The E-Book Market

Whilst still forming a small proportion of the overall book market the sector is witnessing dramatic growth. In 2010 e-Book sales totalled $3.9 billion out of a total book market of $75.8 billion, or 5.2% of the total. Whilst overall this may be a small percentage it represents a 64.2% increase in e-Book sales compared to 2009. This trend looks set to continue and will partly be at the expense of print book sales.

It is noticeable that certain regions are embracing e-Books faster than others. In the US where devices which can display e-Books such as smartphones, tablet computers and e-readers are particularly popular the market expanded between 2009 and 2010 by 76.2%.

With regard to specific trends the digital format provided by e-Books enables publishers to produce greater numbers of products that can reach smaller audiences, and thus cater to more markets. In Education textbooks are starting to fall out of favour as students and teachers are able to move towards more individualised and interactive teaching, with increasing prominence being granted to e-Books and other digital products.

It has been widely recognised that the development of e-Books has provided opportunities for new and less well recognised authors to publish and market their products. In addition to helping the authors this has served to weaken the influence of the publishing houses over the industry. In 2011 Amazon increased this pressure by launching 'Kindle Direct Publishing'. This provides self-published authors with a relatively straightforward opportunity to publish and receive payment for their titles.

In addition to the launch of Kindle Direct Publishing, 2011 saw Amazon increase its efforts more widely in the e-Book market with the purchase of 450 children's titles and the establishment of a number of new publishing imprints. Subsequent to announcing during the second quarter of 2010 that its e-Book sales had surpassed those of hardcover titles, in May 2011 Amazon announced its e-Book sales had now started to exceed all of its printed book sales. The growth of Amazon in this market has seen other players enter partnerships with them to help expand into the area. After entering a partnership UK based independent book publisher Constable & Robinson saw the digital side of their business expand from 0 to 12% of turnover in 2011.

The speed of change is obliging market players to embrace digital technology and the next few years should witness significant change. This will provide many opportunities but existing market participants may find their market position challenged if they fail to adapt.

Writing eBooks To Make Money Online

There are plenty of ways to make money on the internet. Among them, one of the best ways to make money is through writing. You can do freelance writing or you can write for your own website or you can write articles for other's site or you can make an eBook and sell it on the web. The traditional of way writing a book and publishing it can consume a lot of time and also it will take quite some time for your book to reach out to wider audience.

As compared to traditional form of writing and publicizing, writing an eBook is a better proposition. eBooks are digital books (also known as electronic books) that can be written on your computer. You will have to publicize and advertise your eBook on your own or you can hire someone to do it for you. Since Internet is a global platform, it allows your eBooks to be seen and read by wider audience all over the world. Your chances of earning from an eBook are much higher as compared to writing and selling a traditional book. Here is how you can go making money by writing an eBook:

1. To write an eBook, you should start off by thinking of a subject of which you have good and sufficient knowledge. If you unsure about what to write, you can write an eBook after researching for topics by reading famous magazines and current happenings. The topic that you choose should be interesting and popular. You should only start writing on it after you have sufficient amount of information.

You need to think whether you want to add more content to the draft or not. Once you are satisfied with the draft, you can create a final version of your eBook.

3. To make your eBook available on the internet, you need to upload by using any of the self-publishing services like Amazon or Lulu. You do not need to pay any money on these sites to publish your eBook. However, whenever there is a sale, a certain percentage will belong to the self-publishing service.

If you want to know an excellent way to supplement your current income, it's by selling ebooks. I like selling ebooks because you don't have to store anything into inventory, you don't have to have it re-developed, you have unlimited supplies of it, you can sell them for a good profit margin, and they sell pretty quickly if you're in a small niche.

Ebooks are fun, but making money with them can be challenging. Luckily, there's a proven way to sell your ebooks successfully online. I've been using this same technique for the past 10 years to make money with my ebooks, and I think you can do the same also with your ebook.

The tips that I'm about to reveal to you are things that have taken me years to learn, but now that I have perfected it, I know that it's an excellent model to follow, and it's something that is universal also in all businesses. Let's take a look at how I market my ebooks successfully online today:

1) Generate a lead

This is the first step to success. Once you generate a lead, you can follow up on them time and time again without fail. So instead of someone visiting your site, and then leaving never to return, you can get some of these people to sign up to your email newsletter, and promote your product to them simply and easily.

You don't want to email your prospects everyday. Start emailing them every 3 days. This is a good number. Plus when you're generating the lead, you don't have to ask for their name. You can only ask for the email address and you will still make money from your list.

Now after they have bought from you, you want to use personalization in your email autoresponder to talk to them via their first name. And also this personalization technique will help to boost your conversion rates. So it's something that you will definitely want to use in your business today. Here's another tip for selling your ebooks successfully online:

2) Get more traffic

Without alot of traffic coming through on a daily basis, it's going to be tough to earn alot of profits for your ebook. You need tons of traffic coming through, and personally you want this to be some high quality leads that you have generated for free. There are all kinds of ways to get traffic to your website.

You have article marketing, video marketing, social marketing, email marketing, search engine marketing, blogging, podcasts, press releases, viral marketing, and even paid advertising. Imagine combining all of these elements in your business today. You could create a huge traffic surge... one that doesn't stop, and keeps promoting for you each and everyday.

Be sure to take these 2 tips for selling your ebook successfully online. They're simple and easy to do, and you will stand to earn a lot of money with them. Generating a lead and getting more traffic to generate even more leads should be the cornerstone of your business.

Good luck with using these tips to make more money with your ebooks today.

Information Products and E-Books: How to Find the Right One for You

If you've been using the internet for more than, lets say, six months, you probably know what an information product is. Actually chances are good that you've even used one. Maybe you just didn't know it was called an "information product." So what is an information product?

As the name implies, it's a product that provides you with information. They are usually instant downloadable, so you never (or rarely) have to wait for delivery of your purchase. These days they are most often electronic books that can easily be read in many ways. Sometimes though, they also come with DVDs or CDs. So an information product is a package of information or a system. And it usually is focused on helping you achieve something or learning a new skill.

But the issues now is how to find the good ones, and avoid the bad ones. The internet has exploded in the past ten years, and information products are, possibly leading this explosion. Want to know how to wash your car in 5 minutes instead of 30? there's a product for that. Want to know how to knit pink pajamas for your daughters pet rabbit? Sure there's a product for that. And of course there's the ever ubiquitous titles like "how I made a million watching TV while surfing the internet during commercial breaks."

You get the point. There is a lot of "static" in this information product program. So how do you find one that is going to work for you? Or better yet, how do you find one that meets the needs of your immediate problem or concern?

Well one option is going to a website that specializes in hosting these products. There are quite a few and they're easy to find, so no need to mention names. You can go to these sites, and browse the categories, and then maybe research reviews, and then check with the Better Business Bureau. Oh and don't forget the rankings from a customer service standpoint, and a best selling standpoint. And we haven't even got to price yet.

Or you could just use Google. On Google you may be able to find a lot of pages that match the search you put in. So if you put in "solid silver kickstand for my sons bicycle", you may get a lot of pages, but how many of those will yield a good product you can download instantly?

As you might have guess, there is a solution. There are a few companies now competing to be the Google of information products. They have created a search engine that will allow you to save a lot of the time and research involved in fighting an information product that will fit your situation.

And I mean any situation. Well almost any situation. If you do find a way to get a silver kickstand, pink pajamas for my daughter's rabbit or any other unique unusual product, please feel free to drop me a line.

Promotion Techniques For Your Ebook

One of the best businesses in the world is the ebook business. This is a great business to be in if you're looking for a great lifestyle business. You can earn money while you sleep, your products are instantly fulfilled, there's very little customer service, you can earn high profits, and you don't have to put anything into inventory, or use a dropshipper service. This is a business that is extremely good to be in.

But to make money from your ebooks, you have to promote them. There are many ways to promote your ebook online, but only about a handful of these things will bring you the most traffic. I think you should find time out of your day to promote your business for at least 4 hours. That's 4 hours per day that you should be using to make your ebook business a success.

Now if you're busy like me, 4 hours flies by pretty quickly. And it may fly by as fast for you also. It all depends on what you're doing, and how you're spending your time on the internet. Sometimes selling ebooks can be a hassle, but if you master the basics, you'll start to see sales from it in a short period of time.

You have to keep at it and believe that your ebook business will work. You put alot of effort into creating the ebook, now it's time for you to reap the rewards of your hard work. Now all that is needed is a great marketing strategy to help spread the word out about your ebook.

If you've never sold an ebook in your life and want to see sales coming in quickly... sell your product for $7. If you market your business in the right way, you will get quick $7 sales very frequently. Stay true to your niche, and watch how many sales you acquire over the course of an entire year. It can be truly phenomenal.

To make money with your ebook, you have to switch from "entrepreneur" into "expert marketer" mode. No matter what your ebook is about or what niche you're in, the bottom line is that you're in the "internet marketing" business. If you can't drive people to your website and get them to buy, then you will have built your ebook for nothing. And it's a shame that it would have to go to waste like that.

Instead, keep your eyes on the prize, and implement key marketing techniques that you can use to improve your sales and profits immediately. Some of these strategies include video marketing, article marketing, forum marketing, blog marketing, podcast marketing, joint venture marketing, affiliate marketing, and even press release marketing. All of these online marketing tactics can be used to get you the results you're looking for.

Now don't expect to get sales overnight; unless you're using advertising. If you're using paid advertising (like PPC), and you invest a lot of money upfront, then there's probably a good chance that you will wake up with sales in the morning. What you will want to keep your eyes on is whether or not your profiting or breaking even on each sale - instead of losing money for every customer that you get. You have to do the math in your business, and this is very important. So get to it today.

These ebook marketing tips will help you to get the sales that you need to profit in today's economic climate. Keep using these tips, and watch as your income grows after a short period of time.

Good luck with marketing your ebook online successfully today.
